How a Comment on Delay’s Instagram Sparked the Rise of a Top Web Design Agency in Ghana

From Church Volunteer to CEO: How One Instagram Comment Launched a Thriving Web Design Business in Ghana
In 2009, I graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as a civil engineer. But my professional journey has been anything but conventional.

While volunteering in my church’s Media Ministry, I discovered a deep interest in digital media. I taught myself graphic design, video editing, and audio mixing. Eventually, I designed my first website using HTML and CSS—a simple, static page that impressed my bishop more than it did me. That small validation sparked something big.

Teaching Myself to Code
Determined to learn more, I borrowed C++ lecture notes from a friend in the Computer Science department and began teaching myself to code during university vacations. After school, I briefly interned with Support Plus, a civil engineering consulting firm, via ArcPortfolio, where I had landed my first job. However, I couldn’t secure my national service there, so I served at the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) in Cape Coast.

Afterward, I returned to church work full-time, a role I held for almost a decade.

A Turning Point During the Pandemic
In 2019, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced churches across Ghana to close, I realized it was time for a change. I informed my bishop of my decision to pursue entrepreneurship. That was the beginning of EnspireFX Websites.

Leaving full-time church work was difficult, especially since my relationship with my bishop had deteriorated by then. I had no clear roadmap, little support, and more doubts than confidence. But what happened next was nothing short of divine intervention.

One Instagram Comment Changed Everything
One night, I was scrolling through Instagram and came across a post by media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay. The post simply read: “How are you?”

Her comments were flooded with irrelevant and unkind replies. Saddened, I decided to leave an honest one. I wrote:

“I’ve worked in the church since graduation for 10 years, up until this month. I’ve had problems with my bishop, and I’ve just resigned and started a web design agency. To be honest, I don’t know whether I can survive.”

To my shock, Delay responded. She replied with the lyrics of the hymn:

“What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.”

The Comment That Went Viral
The next morning, I woke up to five missed calls from unknown numbers. My comment had gone viral. Encouragement poured in, especially from women, and some even tracked down my contact details.

One of those callers was Nee Lante Bruce, whose voice and presence felt instantly familiar. His fiancée had shown him my comment, saying, “This sounds like your story.” Like me, he had worked in ministry and left with nothing.

He became my first client. He asked me to design his website and even purchased a shared hosting plan, which I used to host sites for my future clients. That one gesture led to the creation of StellerHost, our in-house web hosting service.

Building a Client Base Through Referrals
Nee referred me to a lawyer friend who owned Blackwood Legal, and I built their law firm’s website. From there, the referrals snowballed.

Soon, I was contacted by RC Events Catering Inc., an event and catering company in Delaware, USA. They initially needed help with Instagram graphics, but after seeing my work, they asked me to build their website. Their previous vendor had delayed the project, and I stepped in to complete it.

This client referred me to:

Seasoning Aide, a Delaware-based spice production company.

AutoDash Supplies, an auto parts company run by a senior of mine from Adisadel College.

Women’s Faith Circle Legal Services, another U.S.-based law firm.

From just one comment on Instagram, I landed five high-value international clients within months.

EnspireFX Today: More Than Just Web Design
Today, EnspireFX Websites is one of Ghana’s top-rated web design agencies. Our clients span industries such as law, healthcare, finance, hospitality, construction, and e-commerce. We’ve served organizations in Ghana, the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Nigeria, the UAE, Liberia, and Sweden.

But we quickly realized our clients didn’t just want beautiful websites—they needed business growth. That inspired me to pursue an MBA in Marketing at GIMPA in 2023.

One key lesson I learned: there’s a difference between customer satisfaction and customer success. While satisfaction is about delivering what the client wants, success is about delivering what they need to grow—a strategic, conversion-focused website that supports their business goals.

At EnspireFX, we don’t just build websites—we build digital platforms designed for growth. Our approach combines visual design, technical performance, SEO, and marketing strategy.

A Message of Gratitude and Encouragement
Looking back, that single comment to Delay wasn’t just an Instagram reply—it was the spark that lit the fire. Her kind response gave me a platform, and the public gave me a chance.

To Delay—thank you. And happy belated birthday (June 24th). You’ve inspired and empowered more lives than you know, including mine.

To anyone facing doubt, fear, or transition: tell your story, take that risk, and have faith. The world is listening.
