Tammy Bruce, nominated for a key UN role, has been accused of promoting anti-Muslim rhetoric and questioning their loyalty.

Tammy Bruce, President Donald Trump’s nominee for US deputy representative to the United Nations, has a history of promoting inflammatory and conspiratorial claims, particularly against Muslims. A review by CNN KFile reveals a pattern of demeaning language about Muslims in her blog posts, social media, columns, and radio commentaries dating back to the early 2000s.

Bruce had suggested that American Muslims needed to prove their loyalty post-9/11 and made disparaging comments about Muslim-majority countries she’d work with at the UN. Many statements were published on her blog (now offline) but preserved via the Internet Archive and watchdog groups.

Critics view her record as problematic given the UN role she’d oversee diplomacy with Muslim-majority nations. Her past comments have sparked concerns about her suitability for the position.

Tammy Bruce, the current State Department spokesperson, has been nominated by President Trump as the US deputy representative to the United Nations. Her nomination, sent to the Senate in September, is set for a confirmation hearing on Wednesday. Trump praised her, saying she’d “represent our Country brilliantly” at the UN. The White House cited her loyalty to Trump as a key reason for her effectiveness as spokesperson.

In other words, Bruce is Trump’s pick for a top UN role, and her confirmation is pending Senate approval. She’s known for her strong allegiance to the President and has defended his policies as State Department spokesperson.

Tammy Bruce, a former Fox News contributor and current State Department spokesperson, has a history of making inflammatory comments about former President Barack Obama. She referred to him as a “Kenyan,” “idiot,” and “dumb bastard” in blog posts dating back to 2010. Bruce also falsely suggested Obama was Muslim, citing a minor slip-up during a 2008 ABC interview where Obama said “my Muslim faith” instead of “my Christian faith” .

Bruce’s comments were not limited to Obama’s faith; she also questioned his birth certificate and loyalty, saying “Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing its idiot” ¹. As a conservative radio host, she argued the US was too soft on American Muslims, who she believed needed to prove their loyalty.

In her writings, Bruce stated the US had been “kissing the proverbial derriere of the American Muslim establishment” and it was time for them to “show us that they are American – first and foremost” (July 2002). These comments reflect her critical stance on Muslims and Obama’s presidency.

Bruce’s nomination as US deputy representative to the United Nations has sparked controversy due to her past remarks. Critics view her record as problematic given her future role in diplomacy with Muslim-majority nations.
